Keen Graphics was founded in 2007 by Ramey Newell, a photographer and graphic designer who is passionate about visual expression. Although having recently returned to the artistic world of higher education, Ramey landed in the arena of visual art as a simple matter of providence. She began taking pictures professionally in 2005, and started her graphic design career at a publication company in Oregon in 2006. Since becoming fully self-employed, Ramey has amassed a wide variety of design clients, spanning industries from automotive to fashion, publishing to real estate. Additionally, her photography has appeared in numerous magazines such as Rock and Ice and Backpacker, and is represented by two stock agencies both locally and abroad.

Keen is grounded on the concept of artistic simplicity. “I like to think outside the box when it comes to visual expression,” Ramey says. “Clean lines, bold colors, negative space, and minimalism are styles I enjoy the most.” Keen also partners with experts in related fields, such as web coding or copy writing, to provide clients with the highest quality finished products.

Ramey uses state-of-the-art Adobe Creative Suite 5 software for graphic design. For photography, she uses professional Nikon digital equipment. She enjoys being able to combine her love for design with her photographic talents, and will do so whenever the opportunity arises.

Keen’s founder splits her time between the beautiful, barren deserts of the Southwest, and her home state of Oregon. She lives with three very spotty dogs and an expert quiche chef. In her spare time she clings to rock walls, walks through wild places and jets to exotic locales, taking her camera and her laptop along for the ride.
